The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a list of holidays for the month of October. So, before visiting the bank, check whether banks are open in your city. Let's find out if banks are open for Chhath Puja.
In which cities are banks closed for Chhath Puja?
The following is a list of bank holidays for Chhath Puja. Banks will be closed in Kolkata, Patna, and Ranchi on Monday, October 27, due to the evening offering of Chhath Puja. The following day, Tuesday, October 28th, normal bank operations will be suspended in Patna and Ranchi due to the morning offering of Arghya (offerings) on the occasion of Chhath Puja. This means that these cities will observe a total of two days of bank holidays for Chhath Puja.
However, this will not affect the bank's digital banking services during this time. You will be able to use these services as usual.
There are several bank holidays in November as well.
Bank holidays have been announced on November 1st for the Kannada Rajyotsava in Bengaluru and Igas-Baghwal in Dehradun. Following this, banks will observe a weekly holiday on Sunday, November 2nd. Banks will be closed across the country on November 5th for Guru Nanak Jayanti and Kartik Purnima.
Normal operations will be suspended on November 7th due to the Wangala Festival in Shillong. Additionally, banks will observe weekly holidays on November 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th, all being Sundays. The list of holidays is issued by the RBI. Special holidays are also announced by the RBI on the special request of the state.
