We may be in the midst of a transfer window hiatus, but speculation surrounding the future of current players and potential new recruits never ceases at Chelsea. In an unusual turn of events, the Blues managed to recoup as much as they spent during the last window.
However, following a steady yet unremarkable start to the season that saw them sitting seventh ahead of the international break, Chelsea could be active when the January transfer window swings open. On the pitch, Chelsea will be aiming to pile on the pressure for former Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou when they resume action at Nottingham Forest on Saturday lunchtime. Postecoglou has had a disastrous start to his tenure at Forest and could be sacked if Chelsea triumph at the City Ground.
Jorgensen plea turned downFilip Jorgensen has been largely overlooked this season, making just two appearances. His first was as a substitute after Robert Sanchez was shown the red card early on at Manchester United, while his only start was in the Carabao Cup win at Lincoln, where he appeared notably unsteady.
Had Jorgensen had his way in the summer, he would have been playing in the Netherlands for PSV Eindhoven, who were keen to sign the Dane on loan. Their pursuit of Jorgensen is highlighted in a PSV documentary titled 'Ever Change a Winning Team,' which provides a behind-the-scenes look at the summer's events.
According to PSV Fans, discussions took place between the two clubs, with Jorgensen eager to complete the switch, but Chelsea blocked the temporary transfer. PSV then turned their attention to alternative goalkeeping options, bringing in Nick Olij on a permanent deal from Sparta Rotterdam and securing Matej Kovar on a temporary basis from Bayern Leverkusen.

The Blues believed they were set to secure the services of Marc Guehi well before Liverpool expressed interest in the Crystal Palace and England centre-back.
That's the view of Stamford Bridge icon Pat Nevin, who reckons the club may have squandered their opportunity, despite Guehi - who came through Chelsea's academy before departing for Palace - seeing his current deal expire at the conclusion of this campaign.
Speaking to OLBG, Nevin revealed: "As far as I understand, Chelsea thought they had Marc Guehi before, but they didn't get him. I can't remember how long ago that was, a year and a half ago, something like that. They thought they had him.
"If they had gone in again this time, they'd have been battling against the very, very biggest clubs, and that becomes difficult. You have to look at your budgets then. Chelsea obviously do not have a lot of money. If you spend two billion quid, you have to be a wee bit more careful if you spend that amount. I think had they thought they could get Guehi, I think they would definitely have gone for it."

Enzo Fernandez is set to be available to face Forest after an injury scare while with Argentina. The midfielder had to cut short his international duty due to a knee problem, but it's not believed to be serious.
In other news, Tosin Adarabioyo and Wesley Fofana are also likely to return following their respective fitness issues. Moises Caicedo, Joao Pedro and Reece James all remained at home during the international break to top up their fitness, while Levi Colwill and Liam Delap are long-term absentees. Cole Palmer's fitness remains uncertain after recent injury problems forced him to sit out England's World Cup qualifiers.
