King Charles set to face more royal drama as another new book in the works

King Charles has been carrying out his royal duties with dignity in recent weeks, despite his younger brother, Prince Andrew's bombshells. However, the monarch is set to face a fresh headache as a new book about a beloved member of the Firm is in the works.

Andrew relinquished all his titles and honours last Friday, following weeks of explosive claims regarding his links to convicted paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein, and ahead of his abuse accuser Virginia Giuffre's memoir release on Tuesday.

The book brings new claims about the disgraced prince, who has always denied any allegations against him. But an author, who has previously written about Andrew, has made new claims about his next project.

Andrew Lownie revealed that he is working on a "warts and all" book on the late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday back in August, Mr Lownie said: "I've put in all the FOIs [Freedom of Information requests] for a Prince Philip book already.

"I'm told a great deal of time after his death was spent by those in his employment burning all his papers, but I'm working very hard to get what I can."

The Duke, who passed away at the age of 99 in 2021, was the beloved husband of Queen Elizabeth II for more than 73 years.

According to the author, one early find was Prince Philip's school report, which was intended to be inaccessible to the public for a century.

He said: "But I've got it. It shows his recommendations for the Royal Navy, and it's now at last declassified and available.

"Times are changing, they do need to start declassifying more and more records for the royals. People expect more transparency from the monarchy now."

Aside from Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Mr Lownie has previously written books on the late Duke's uncle, Lord Louis Mountbatten, and about the life and scandals of King Edward VIII.
