Vinted users have been left fuming as they reported on Thursday evening they were unable to access their cash from sales on the app. Hundreds have taken to the Downdetector site and social media to flag the issue.
Writing on X, one frustrated customer said: "Vinted you currently have a pending balance issue globally." A second added: "Anyone else having this issue on Vinted?" A third put: "What's with the pending balance issue? It's been days and I need to withdraw my money. Anyone else having the same issue?"
Vinted has issued a notice to users on the app. As reported by The Sun, it warns: "Sorry, your earnings might stay in pending balance longer than usual. We're working on it."
According to Downdetector, Vinted users have been experiencing issues with the app throughout the day. At around 8am this morning (October 30), there were a total of 153 reports of outages.
Shortly after 2pm, there were 173 while there were 170 at 3.30pm. The issue has continued into the evening with 128 reports at 5.15pm.
Vinted was hit by a huge outage at the end of April, leaving thousands without access to the app. There were around 5,000 reporting problems on Downdetector at the time.
The second-hand clothing marketplace was founded in 2008. It has since seen a rise in popularity due to the rise of affordable, second hand clothes.
The site's sales jumped from £508 million to £693 million in 2024 - a rise of 36%. It has been praised for its user-friendly design and simple layout.
Vinted introduced new rules last month which could see sellers banned from the site. The new regulation includes a new ban for sellers, who must not "delete and re-list the same item multiple times or multiple items in bulk".
However, TikTok user Culture Force said the update "doesn't seem very fair" on users. He added: "Long story short, when sellers on Vinted and eBay have items that aren't selling, a pretty simple trick is to relist the item
