Strictly star 'wants to replace BBC boss Tim Davie' as they make bombshell quip

Strictly Come Dancing star La Voix has joked about potentially "replacing" Tim Davie after he resigned from his role at the BBC on Sunday. It comes after Donald Trump threatened to sue the BBC for $ 1 billion, following accusations that the broadcaster had "misled" viewers by splicing together parts of a speech made by the US President. Both BBC director-general Tim Davie and BBC News CEO Deborah Turness resigned as a result of the accusations. In his resignation letter, Tim Davie said the decision was "entirely" his own and took "ultimate responsibility" for the mistakes made under his leadership.

Speaking on the spin-off show It Takes Two, La Voix was quizzed by host Fleur East about getting an exclusive, saying: "So far, you've done Claudia's job, you've done Tess' job, you've done a director's job - what's in store for this weekend?"

La Voix jokingly replied with: "Well then, there are some bigger jobs that have just become available at the BBC beyond Strictly, so she's got her eye on progammes beyond that quite frankly." Meanwhile, their partner Alja Škorjanec struggled to stop laughing.

La Voix has previously pretended to play the role of presenter Tess Daly during Halloween week. It comes after Tess and fellow host Claudia Winkleman announced that they would be stepping down from their positions at the end of the series.

Tess Daly has been presenting the BBC show for 21 years and previously hosted alongside the late Bruce Forsyth. Tess and Claudia then made history when they became the first female presenting duo in primetime television.

There is no confirmation on who will be replacing the pair.

Claudia also joined the Strictly family in 2004, when she began leading its spin-off show It Takes Two. She later moved over to presenting the main show 10 years ago.

The pair announced the news in a video statement on Tess Daly's Instagram feed. They said: "We have loved working as a duo and hosting Strictly has been an absolute dream. We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time."

Meanwhile, the Strictly Come Dancing stars of 2025 will be eager to progress this weekend and secure a spot in Blackpool Week on November 22.

La Voix was saved by the judges after the dreaded dance-off last Sunday, meaning that Gladiators icon Harry Aikines-Aryeetey became the latest contestant to exit the dancefloor.

Strictly Come Dancing resumes this Saturday, 15 November on BBC One.
